Treatment of stock oil sludge at WISCO coking plant (First STARx project in China)

The original WISCO coking plant islocated at Batan Road, Baishazhou, Wuchang city, between the Yangtze RiverBridge I and III, adjacent to State highway 107, Wuchang South Station in theeast, and Yangtze River in the west, with a railway siding directly to thefactory. Huge amount of contaminants was stored in the oxidation pond (Zone A),sewage treatment station (Zone B), sludge tank at condensation zone (Zone C)and gas tank (Zone D) in the plant, of which about 17,000 tons of sewage and 5200tons of oil sludge, emitting pungent smell.
